Ware Academy of Music Flute Choir

Spring Session 2012

The Ware Academy of Music Flute Choir is open to flutists of all ages.   Students will experience a supportive, non-competitive environment for music making and meet fellow musicians who share a love of flute playing.  They will have the opportunity to be coached in their individual playing as well as in an ensemble.  Participants will gain valuable experience in this unique form of chamber music, and will participate in an end of term concert.  

Requirements:

·         Two or more years of experience playing flute in a school band and/or one year of private instruction

·         A working flute

·         Folding music stand and pencil brought to every rehearsal

·         Commitment to attend weekly rehearsals –  members may not miss more than two rehearsals per session; dress rehearsals and concert dates are mandatory

Cost - The cost for the spring term is $100, to be paid before the initial class.  This cost includes:

·         Coaching for a minimum of 10 rehearsals (one hour each) and the Dress Rehearsal

·         All sheet music

·         Rehearsal space, concert venue and all associated costs

Dismissal – Participants may be dismissed from the group for consistent late arrivals, too many missed rehearsals, inappropriate behavior, and/or damage to facilities/property at the instructor’s discretion.

Rehearsals will take place on a weekly basis – Sundays from 6-7pm

                *FIRST REHEARSAL: Sunday January 29

                *DRESS REHEARSAL: Sunday May 6

                *CONCERT: Saturday May 12, 3pm -4pm

*Mandatory rehearsal – attendance is required
