Progress in Piano: I am preparing for my ARCT exam in the summer 2009 and Harmony 4 exam in winter 2007. I have taken Piano exams including Grade 5 (81%), Grade 8 (85%), Grade 9 (82%), and Grade 10 (85%) exams over 4 years. I have also finished my theory requirements in 2 years including: preliminary rudiments (93%), Grade 2 Rudiments (96.5%), Harmony 3 (87%) and History 3 (now History 1) (100%).
Progress in School: Tidiness is my specialty. I keep my locker spotless everyday. Every subject isn’t very stressful or awfully difficult for me. I always get my homework done on time and projects handed in to amaze. My journals, lab reports and French presentations all bring me 4+’s. I try hard in everything and I always try to exceed everyone else in projects.
Free Time and Misc: I spend my free time with my buds playing Halo 3, other video games, cards, and outdoor sports at each other’s house and in the park. I like to sketch out pictures when I feel sad and watch TV when there’s nothing else to do. I do one set of Gauss exams every week to sharpen my math skills and 8 laps around the Unionville High School track for exercise twice per week.
Future: I plan to be a vet, computer engineer, or an architect when I grow up

The Ware Academy of Music has selected Charles Hwang and Timmy Mo as Students of the Year for 2006. Both students have received the highest grades in two or more theory classes in the previous year and have maintained high standards of achievement in the diploma programme offered through the Royal Conservatory of Music. They will receive a prize of $100.00 for their outstanding merits in music theory.
Charles, son of Lisa and Steve Hwang, was born in Seoul, South Korea and immigrated to Canada at the age of ten. He began piano lessons at age 6 and is working toward the ARCT Performer's certificate. He plays the double bass in the senior orchestra at A.Y. Jackson high school and also performs in the senior chamber orchestra, senior stage band, jazz ensemble and conducts the Tropical Skittles ensemble. Charles' has completed all requirements for his RCM theory certificate. His accomplishments include: Basic Harmony (previously Harmony 3) (96), History 1 (previously History 3) (94), Intermediate Harmony (previously Harmony 4) (83), History 2 (previously History 4) (97), Counterpoint (previously Counterpoint 4) (86), Harmony 5 (95), Analysis (98) and History 3 (previously History 5) (88).
Timmy Mo was born in Hong Kong and immigrated to Canada when he was five. The son of Leslie and Iris Mo, he first started lessons at the age of 7 and is currently in Grade 10 piano. He attends Albert Campbell College Institute and plays the flute in the Grade 10 band. He also sings in several school choirs including the concert and men's choir. Timmy's theory accomplishments include: Basic Harmony (previously Harmony 3) (93), History 1 (previously History 3) (99), Intermediate Harmony (previously Harmony 4) (96), History 2 (previously History 4) (99), Counterpoint (97) Advanced Harmony (91) and Analysis (98) . He received 87 on his grade 10 piano exam and 84 on his ARCT He studies piano with David Swan at the Ware Academy of Music.
Peter and Lynn Ware, owners of the Ware Academy of Music and instructors of Charles and Timmy, are proud to enable and celebrate such high achievement levels! Charles and Timmy stand out amongst their peers as role models for all ambitious music students. Congratulations to our modern myth makers!
